A Weekend to Hit Refresh

May 15, 2015

Remember yesterday’s post about all of my scheduled weekends away? Well this weekend is one of the few that I’m in town, and get this, I have almost no plans! Often my weekends are planned down to the minute, so when one comes along that I’m in the city with barely anything on the agenda, I really bask in the glory of it.

On these rare occasions, sometimes I’ll be super productive, crossing items off of my to-do list left and right, and other times I fall into a very lazy mood and catch up on shows, lay around the apartment and do very little. Both of these types of weekends are totally necessary from time to time.

Aside from a wedding on Saturday and a broadway show on Sunday (Wicked with Michele!), my weekend is wide open. One of the best parts of low-key weekends is the attire, athleisure workout gear all day every day (except for to the wedding & show of course).

I’m loving these mesh paneled Onzie leggings, I feel good enough in them to go from yoga to errands and won’t be embarrassed to run into people I know. Paired with my platform Nikes I practically feel dressed up. My top is from Lululemon (sold out but similar) and it’s been in my regular rotation for over a year. It’s loose, soft and cozy and is reversible depending on whether you want the deep v in the front or the back (to show off a cute sports bra). It was one of those random sale-rack finds and I love it so much.

To take advantage, I’ve made a list of things I’d like to get done, along with some hammock lounging as well.

On This Weekends’s To-Do List:

Get in my Ironman 70.3 training workouts: Weekend workouts are long, by Sunday I’ll need to have completed a 30 mile bike ride, 8 mile run & 1,200 yard swim. To get this all in I’ll be waking up early, I don’t want these workouts to takeover my entire day.

Grocery shop & meal plan: I have a new food processor that I’m excited to put to work, I’ll be trying some new recipes that will keep me satisfied from Sunday to Friday. By getting food for the week on Sunday, I’m setting myself up for success.

Organize: I can get overwhelmed with trying to get the apartment in order, so instead of trying to do everything in one day, I’m taking it one small task at a time. This weekend will be for cleaning out my night stand and closet dresser.

Work on the blog: Weekends are optimal time to think about future content and get posts set up so I don’t have to scramble after a long day at work.

Hang with Ollie: I hate that I’m away from Ollie so much during the week and try to make extra time for puppy cuddles and park walks during the weekend.

What do you do on the weekends to hit refresh for the week ahead?
