Before the Long Weekend….

July 3, 2014

Lets take a look back at the last week, here are a few highlights I’ve been wanting to share!

Training

My race is right around the corner (NYC Tri Aug 3) so I’ve been trying to step it up where I can. Last weekend I woke up super early (7am, early for a weekend!) for a ride with Sara and Brittany over the GW and into Jerz. Waking up that early on a Sunday is tough but it was totally worth it; there were barely any cars along our route and we rode 40 miles and were back home by 11am! An awesome way to start the day. Already have another early morning ride in the books for July 12 (except Britt can’t join because she’s getting married that night!).

It’s been a hot and humid week, making me actually WANT to go swimming (even though it’s indoors). I think I may have just created my new Wednesday morning routine. Normally I teach cycling at 6:15am, I’m back home by 7:10am and promptly shower and lay on the couch for an hour watching Real Housewives, however, this week after I class I made a stop at the JCC pool and swam for 40 minutes. I made it back home by 8:15 and was at work on time with a 40 minute bike ride and 40 minute swim already under my belt. The pool at the JCC happens to be really lovely, you get a nice amount of sunlight thanks to floor to ceiling windows.

Friends & Babies

My former NYC friend, now Dallas resident Genniva came to visit with her adorable lil baby Sterling. She’s brave for bringing a two-month old to the city but Sterling took on Manhattan like a pro.

And I got to catch up with all my friends from when I worked at Lucky Mag!

Love catching up with this group, and doing it with this rooftop view ain’t too shabby.

And with that, I wish you all a very Happy 4th of July! Enjoy the long weekend everyone!
