Going Overboard

April 23, 2013

Sometimes I go a little crazy with my workouts. When asked to sub a couple of extra spin classes at a gym near my office I figured, why not? Easy way to make some extra money. What I forgot was how many other classes I was already teaching. So in a 26-hour period I taught 5 spin classes (2 of which were 60 minute classes). Yikes! I was so exhausted by the evening classes I actually said “Good Morning” to a student even though it was 5:45pm..awkward.

When scheduling workouts, you really do have to be careful not to go beyond your limits (push yourself too hard and you can get injured and overall you’re just going to be exhausted). It’s better to do a shorter and more focused workout than stay at the gym for hours without putting in your best effort.

Well, I’m happy that today I don’t have any classes to teach! I do have a tri training run tonight but other than that, I’m taking in easy.

When working out, do you know your limits, or do you go completely overboard (like me!)?
