In-Between Seasons Workout Clothes

September 13, 2012

Summer has come to an end and suddenly there is a chill in the air. In NYC, hovering between 65-75 degrees, it’s ideal outdoor running weather. I’m the type of person who is always cold, so the slight drop in temperature has got me shivering. Luckily I have a few key pieces to keep me warm through the first few minutes of my run. Once I’m all warmed up, these pieces won’t get in the way of the rest of my workout.

Run: Swiftly Tech ½ Zip by Lululemon

This piece manages to keep me warm while also being extremely lightweight. Once I’ve completed my warm up, I can easily tie this around my waist. It seriously weighs next to nothing.

Run: Fast And Free Crop

Nearly all of my workout pants are cropped (I’m 5’2 so all other pants are way too long on me) and these are one of my favorite pairs. They are good for the in-between temps, I don’t yet need my fleece lined leggings, but it’s becoming a bit too chilly for my short shorts. I always look for pants with a zipped pocket so I can stash my key and ID during runs.

Nike Daybreak Cap

I will admit that what initially attracted me to this hat was that it was hot pink. But aside from looking cute, it’s lightweight, reflective and provides minimal warmth, but does add an extra layer for chilly mornings.
