The Nordstrom Sale is here and I know I’m not a fashion blogger that you’re looking to for all the best finds, but I thought I could share a few items that I either have my eye on, or have bought in the past. Many of these items are great for anyone, but especially moms.
While I’ve been trying to curb spending, I still may add a few items to my cart. I know my wardrobe could use a bit of a sprucing up. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been in a heavy rotation of leggings for many months. Whenever I put on real clothes I truly feel like a new person. So perhaps a few select items would be good for my mental health.
And if there is one population that I think can really benefit from the Nordstrom sale, it’s new or soon-to-be new moms. There are a lot of essentials that you really do need as a new mom. I’m talking things for the baby, like a stroller or car seat, but also things for YOU because your body is going to continue to go through a lot of changes. It makes a huge difference to wear clothes you feel good in. Though your body is still feeling and perhaps looking pregnant, it’s likely that you are really over all of your maternity clothes.
This time last year I had a two month old and I bought a handful of items from the sale. I wore them all the time and they were well-made purchases. Even though they were casual items, they still made me feel like a new person. I felt very unlike myself during the first few weeks and months postpartum and wearing comfortable, flattering, and well-fitting clothes really did make a difference in how I felt.
So for the new or soon-to-be mamas out there, these are the items you may want to check out.
Nordstrom Sale Picks For Baby
Nuna Rava Convertible Car Seat: I had my eye on this car seat but it is quite pricey. If you’re considering this one, now is the time to act.
Tripp Trapp Chair Baby Set: I love the look of this high chair and I’ve heard it’s amazing. Plus it works from the time your baby is 6 months old and grows with them until they no longer need a high chair. This isn’t the one we own but if I was buying a high chair during the sale, I’d definitely get this.
Baby Bling Thin Bows: Baby Bling is my favorite baby girl bow brand and I hadn’t seen the thin bows before and they are super cute! I seriously might buy these even though I know they won’t stay on for more than 10 seconds.
Baby Bling Bows 2-Pack: These are the exact headbands I bought for Millie last year. They are well-made and stretch to stay in place without leaving marks on your baby. Millie now pulls these off her head the second they go on, but if she still tolerated bows, I’d buy a bunch more this year (I purchased some at the sale last year!). This is the bow brand I recommend to all girl moms looking for bow advice.
Nordstrom Sale Picks For Mom
Caslon Rounded V-Neck T-Shirt: I bought two of these at the sale last year and might buy a few more this year. The price of $12.90 is pretty incredible. It may just be a t-shirt but that’s a staple in my wardrobe and these are comfortable and flattering. Highly recommend. It’s the top I’m wearing in the picture above.
Halogen Open Front Pocket Cardigan: I love long cozy cardigans and if you’re breastfeeding, they are a great choice.
The North Face Rissy 2 Hooded Water Repellent Raincoat: I need to go on daily walks to stay sane (also to walk the dog which is a necessity anyways) and living in Portland, yes, sometimes it’s raining. When prepared with the right gear, even rainy walks can be nice. I already have a great raincoat so I’m not buying this one, but if you don’t own a good raincoat, think about it. The one I own is more than twice the price of this one but is a similar style. I definitely recommend having a a high quality raincoat in your wardrobe.
Moonlight Dream Short Pajamas: The combination of pandemic life and mom life mean we all deserve comfortable pajamas.
Zella Live in High Waist Leggings: I basically live in high waisted leggings and can never have enough. I personally haven’t tried the Zella brand yet but have heard good things so now might be a good time to give them a try.
Spanx Faux Leather Leggings: I purchased these at the sale last year and like everyone else, love ’em. They make you feel dressed up even though you’re still just in leggings. I wore mine with long sweaters for nights out (when that was still a thing…one day it will be again!).
Nike Blazer Low SE Sneaker: As I said, I go on a lot of walks these days. Stroller walks with Millie are what maintain my sanity. Wearing cute sneakers helps.
Sofft Somers III Sneaker Mule: I’ve been looking for an easy slip-on shoe option for when I’m running out for a quick walk or errand. These look perfect. I also think these would be ideal for pregnant women who no longer walk to bend down to tie their shoes.
Living Proof Jumbo Size Perfect Hair Day Set: Postpartum hair loss is real, and the regrowth is a real journey. Put simply, it sucks and my hair is out of control. I’m a fan of Living Proof so I may need to stock up with this pack.
And that’s it! Pretty quick and simple. Would love to hear about your must-haves and if you’re shopping the sale this year!
