Life Lately: 2020 So Far

May 6, 2020

Hello friends! It has been a while. There was a reason I didn’t include “blog more” in my 2020 resolutions—I thought this might happen! Though I didn’t expect nearly half the year to go by without a blog post. But here we are. And really, I’m okay with it, because life has been busy and crazy (for everyone!).

Every so often I think about a blog post I want to write, then get overwhelmed because I haven’t written in a while, and where do I even begin. So here’s where I begin! Just a quick post to check in and share what I’ve been up to, with more to come.

So briefly, here’s what life lately has been like.

Portland: We’re still living in Portland and really enjoying it here. The internal conflict of whether we should stay or move at some point to be closer to friends and family continues. No update there! I was hoping to use this time to explore more of the PNW and Portland and am bummed that we have to stay inside, but I know there will be more time in the future for exploring and it’s okay that it’s on hold right now.

Motherhood: Millie is 10 months old! I truly can’t believe how fast the last 10 months have flown. Millie is a super sweet and happy baby and life with her is just the best. Motherhood is a wild journey and I’m enjoying this new role oh so much.

Work: Even though I haven’t been writing much here, I have been writing a ton! Actually, the most I’ve ever written in my life. My writing on motherhood, wellness, and life in general can be found over at The Everymom. I’ve been a contributing editor there since last year and I love it. I’m also working on another huge writing project, which I will share more about very soon.

Fitness/Baby Bootcamp: I created and launched my own baby bootcamp at the beginning of the year and it was super fun! It was an 8-week program and I really enjoyed creating and leading the classes. My hope was to continue this in some form as the weather got better (as an outdoor bootcamp), but now, who knows. I do hope to lead something in the near future and we’ll see what happens. I do think it could be done with social distancing once some restrictions lighten up, TBD on that. But for now, I’m leading workouts on Instagram and doing a bit of Zoom personal training.

Self-Isolation: And just like everyone else, we’re staying home. It’s been a little over a month since the stay-at-home orders began and we’ve been hanging out, waiting to see what happens next. Of course I’m sad and there are a lot of events and experiences we were hoping to have during this time, but the important thing is we’re staying healthy and safe and hopefully life outside of our house can resume soon.

And a couple of photos from life lately…

Pretty brief, but that’s the quick overview! I have some content ideas on my mind and will be back to share soon. Until then, stay healthy and safe everyone!
