25-Minute Full Body At Home Workout (Prenatal Friendly!)

May 30, 2019

Confession: I stopped going to the gym.

I’m 38 weeks pregnant so I suppose no one would fault me for that. I always thought I’d be one of those preggos who was at the gym until the day they went into labor. But actually I stopped going to the gym about a month ago. Group fitness classes weren’t working for me. They really felt like a waste of time/$ since I ended up doing my own thing 50% of the time. And as for going to the gym to do a solo workout, well it just wasn’t making sense anymore. Currently in my third trimester, the only things I’d do at the gym are walk on the treadmill and/or do light weights.

The weather has been beautiful so instead of treadmill walking I take walks with Ollie around the neighborhood and as for strength work, I have a set of 8 pound weights and resistance bands at home. While I do miss the gym atmosphere, I’ve been hanging at home a lot more recently. I’ll admit I’m a little surprised at just how much I’ve slowed down in this last trimester but that’s where I’m at.

When I feel up to it, I’ve been tossing together strength routines to do in the living room. Today I’m sharing one of those workouts with you. It’s prenatal friendly but also a good set of moves if you’re not pregnant too.

If you do the workout, I’d love to know what you thought. Also, I’d love to hear about your experiences working out during pregnancy, did you slow down more than you thought you would or did you power through classes and solo workouts?
