I haven’t shared my monthly goals with you in a few months! With packing up life in NYC, driving across the country, and getting settled in SF, my goal was more or less to just get through the day. Now that I’m feeling more settled, it’s time to get back to monthly goals.
Before I get to my goal, I have exciting news to share. Over the past month I’ve been training to become a coach at Orangetheory Fitness and last week I taught my first classes and I’m officially on the team.
I had been to Orangetheory in NYC and loved the full body workout. It’s a 60-minute circuit style class that transitions between treadmills, rowers and the weight floor. What sets it apart from other studios is the heart rate monitor you wear in each class to keep yourself accountable for how hard you’re working.
I’m teaching 11 classes each week, and I have to say, teaching 11 classes is pretty exhausting. The tough part is, I’m not actually working out in the classes. I’ll demo a few moves but mostly I’m coaching the class. By the time I’m done teaching I feel like I’ve been working out for hours, but in reality I still need to get my workout in. This will take some getting used to, especially the days where I lead the 5am classes. Previously I had only taught cycling classes which allowed me to workout while teaching. Getting my workout done and leading students, that was a win-win.
As an ambassador for Premier Protein, each month I share my goals for the extra thing I’ll accomplish in my day. My goal for August to bring strong energy to both my Orangetheory classes that I’m teaching and to my own workouts. I want my students to feel motivated and inspired.
