It is a gloomy, rainy mess in NYC and I’m dreaming about being beach-side in the sun, so let’s take a look at a potential retreat on my list. Like last week, it’s another Costa Rica camp, Pura Vida Adventures.
Pura Vida means “enjoy life” and this retreat is all about rejuvenating and empowering the mind body and spirit through surfing, SUP and yoga. The week-long camp has coed or women only weeks available and looks a bit more social than some of the others we are considering.
A typical day (as noted from the website) has morning yoga, breakfast, surf instruction, followed by lunch, relaxation (massages, poolside hanging, etc), optional sunset surf session and then dinner which includes occasional outings to restaurants. This retreat sounds like you get to explore Costa Rica while still getting in plenty of healthy eating and fitness.
Pura Vida offers a surf-focused camp (which includes some yoga) and a more yoga-centric camp. I’m looking for a combo of surf and yoga so the first option sounds like an excellent potential as we look into booking.
From the images on the site, this looks like a serene place to get away from it all while still have lots of fun.
Rates for a shared accommodation range from $2,295-$2,495 (not including flights).
Have you been on a wellness retreat? If you have, any recommendations?
