Are you ready for Part III? I am! Here are my favorite gifts for the holiday season to give to your health-conscious friends, or for friends who are looking to make small changes to their lifestyles to become healthier. Don’t confuse this category with fitness gear, that’s on tomorrow’s gift guide installment!  Here we go, gifts to encourage Health Habits:

1. Fitness trackers are all the rage these days. The new sleek Fitbit has a clock on it (an excellent addition if you ask me) and while I don’t presonally use this brand, I’ve spoken with many who have and it comes highly recommended. $129.99

2. And another fitness tracker, the one I have, is the UP by Jawbone. The Fitbit and UP are pretty similar so it’s just a matter of preference but as someone who’s had the UP for a while, I’m a huge fan. It tracks sleep, movement and food and really does encourage more movement and proper sleep. It’s a game changer. $129.99

3. Heart rate monitors are a perfect gift for someone looking to take their fitness to the next level. Using a heart rate monitor during workouts will help make workouts more efficient and shows how many calories were burned (don’t trust the numbers on treadmills/ellipticals, they are inaccurate). The Polar brand is the go-to for heart rate monitors and I like the look and features of the FT7 Fitness Watch. $119.95

4. A health/fitness related magazine subscription is a great gift for fit friends looking for cooking tips, workouts, race training and so on. There are tons of options depending on your interest. My three favorites: Triathlete, Runner’s World, Self. (prices vary)

5. Keep hydrated with a BKR heart water bottle. The bottle is glass but is surrounded by a removable silicone sleeve. These bottles are perfect for yoga class or at your desk. They are FDA approved, BPA free, phthalate free lightweight and doesn’t leak. $34.00

6. For friends who keep overpaying for juice cleanses, give them their very own juicer. While it takes more work than buying a pre-made cleanse, it is way more cost-effective over time. Plus you can come up with hundreds of juice combinations. I have the Breville Juice Fountain Plus. Sort of annoying to clean but still worth it. $149.99

7. For desk-snackers, give the gift of healthy snacking! NatureBox will deliver a box once a month of nutritious snacks. I get it sent to my office so I always have something tasty (yet all-natural) available when my 3pm snack attack hits. Gift options include a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription. $59.95-$199.95

8. Cooking meals at home can seem like a chore, and if your friends keep complaining that they don’t have the time and energy to go grocery shopping, take away the work and give a subscription to Blue Apron, all the ingredients for full-meals delivered to your door. Gift options include 1, 2 or 4 weeks of meals. Prices Vary.

9. More gifts for those that cook, this Lucero Olive Oil set includes 4 bottles; lemon infused olive oil, garlic infused olive oil, Arbequina 3 star blend and traditional balsamic vinegar which allow for cooking with healthy fats and flavor. $44

10. And one more for the at-home chef. A set of chili spices from Williams Sonoma, again helping to add flavor to foods, not fat. $36

See you tomorrow for Part IV, the final installment of our gift guide featuring my favorite fitness items!
