A Few More Marathon Things

Because, why not! Here’s what I’ve got left to talk about:

My friend Emily alerted me to this amazing Instagram from Al Roker. The focus is supposed to be on the man dribbling basketballs during a marathon, but let’s be real, the most exciting part is ME, featured in the bottom right corner. Hey Al, I love you too.

This training plan has been on my desk for four months, it is so hard to throw it away! But also, let’s take a look at how I did. Circled are all the workouts I skipped, whoops! Did the best I could, but perhaps next time I’ll make more time for those speed drills (and yoga, yikes, only 2 classes in 4 months!).

I feel like my metabolism is totally out of whack. Two days after the race I was craving salt and basically eating every last grain out of a bag of pretzels. Is it possible my metabolism is still revved up? Let’s pretend it is! Last night’s (amazing) dinner at ABC Kitchen with MM really hit the spot. Among the many things we ordered, these were two favorites: Top- a piece of butternut squash deep fried and topped with cheese. This was an appetizer but let’s call a spade a spade, this is a doughnut. Bottom- salted caramel sundae with fudge and caramel popcorn.

Enough of this craziness, I need to get back to my normal gym routine and back to normal eating habits. I’ve been trying to workout but the blister situation isn’t helping. Let’s hope tomorrow is a better day!
