Weekly Wins Time!

1. Run Run Run: Marathon training continued with an all-time long run for me at 18 miles. I was in Sharon, MA (MM’s hometown) for the weekend so I did a loop around the town’s lake and through a few neighborhoods. While perhaps a little bored while running alone for 2 hours and 50 minutes, I will say the weather was PERFECT. It was mid-60s with a nice chill in the air. I barely broke a sweat. I was also happy to see my pace go down from last week’s 17-miler. My average pace this time was 9:29, a pace around what I’d like to aim for come race day.

2. Crescent Ridge: Sharon, MA was recently ranked the #1 place to live in America. Reasons given for this top spot include ample jobs, scenery, good schools and so on…but I’m pretty sure it’s the #1 place to live because of their creamery. Every time we are in Sharon, a visit to Crescent Ridge is a must. This was the perfect reward for my 18-miler.

3. Let’s Go Blue: I was back in NYC by Saturday night, just in time to catch the Michigan vs. Notre Dame game. So proud of my team for the big win! Watching the game on TV is in no way comparable to being in the Big House. I miss Ann Arbor, hoping to get there for a visit soon.

4-5. Bike, Bike, Bike: Sunday was for the NYC Century bike ride (in my Michigan bike jersey!). Originally set to ride for 75-miles, my group made a game-time decision at mile 33 to opt for the 55-mile route instead. It was a good decision if I do say so myself. The ride was fun but had a lot of stop-and-go situations with all the traffic. Along the way we had some beautiful views (many of which I couldn’t photograph for fear I’d fall off my bike). Overall it took about 7 hours and was a solid/exhausting workout.
