A Healthy Saturday

April 17, 2010

I started my Saturday off on a healthy note with a bikram yoga class.  The 90-minute hot yoga jump started my day. Every time I take one of these classes it makes me feel awesome and makes me want to adapt healthier habits (sure, sometimes it doesn’t last long, but it’s a nice feeling for the time being). Saturday workouts tend to be my worst day of the week because I’m tired, have no spin classes and spend the whole time at the gym thinking about what I could be doing outside of the gym.  Taking a bikram class is the perfect answer- it keeps me focused all the way through and gives me a good sweat.  Flexibility isn’t one of my strong points so this class is something different and good for my body as opposed to the running, spinning, lifting regime I follow the rest of the week.  Check out a class at www.bikramnyc.com.

Since I’m trying to stick to the healthy route, I made a great dinner with a recipe from www.hungry-girl.com.  What looks like your typical unhealthy lo mein, is a surprisingly delicious impostor made with tofu noodles (that seriously taste like pasta!).  It’s super easy and low-cal, with each large serving only containing only 167 calories, YUM!
