2014 Resolutions: A Look Back

December 30, 2014

Here’s the original post of 2014 Resolutions, let’s take a quick look and see how I did. I’ll rate them Success, Progress & Fail.

  • Be More Adventurous: Success. I did pretty well on this one. I went to surf camp, I got a dog, I tried some new things.
  • Get More Sleep: Fail. Every year I fail this. Better luck next year…
  • Clean & Healthy Eating + Cooking: Success. I went Paleo(ish) this year and also completed Whole30.
  • Career Goals: Progress. Got a new job and am working in a field I enjoy.
  • Start my Health Coaching Business: Progress. Have gotten clients on board and have started my business and hope to grow it more in the year ahead.
  • Keep a Clean Apt: Progress. I’ll give this one a “sorta” rating. Definitely need to work on this more, especially with the addition of a dog, but this year was pretty solid in the cleanliness department.
  • Better Self-Care: Progress. Doing ok with this but need more work. I still mostly focus on the gym and eating as opposed to using good beauty products, timely dr visits, rest days, etc but I think I’ve made progress.
  • Be a Kinder Person: Progress? I’ll admit this was a vague goal and hard to quantify if I was successful. I think I did this? Not sure..
  • Volunteer: Success. Joined a committee with Girls on the Run and also volunteered my time teaching at Cycle for Survival.
  • Continue to Improve the Blog: Progress. I believe I improved the blog in 2014 and hope to continue in 2015!

That brings us to 2015. What are my big goals for the year head? First off, I’ll be turning 30 this year so my 30 before 30 list is a priority and ties in with resolutions. Here we go.

  • Complete as much of my 30 before 30 list. 5 months and 10 items to go.
  • Get More Sleep: This will be on my resolution list for the rest of my life. Let’s aim for 7 hours.
  • Stay Hydrated: Get in the habit of drinking more water every single day. Sometimes I workout and forget to drink anything. Must work on this.
  • Be More Creative in the Kitchen: Try out new recipes instead of only sticking to my favorites. I’ll say one new recipe every two weeks.
  • Declutter My Life: This will take the form of keeping an organized apartment, desk and email inbox.
  • Race a Half Ironman: This is my big race goal of 2015. More on that later.
  • Start Running Again: I love running and the feeling I get from it, yet after I ran the NYC marathon in 2013 I sorta just stopped running. I want to get back into it, this will consist of getting new running shoes, pulling out my wintery running clothes and getting at least 1 run in each week (we’ll start small, obviously training for a half ironman will require a lot of running)
  • Get Craftier on the Blog: This includes taking better photos, working on the format and generally speaking, make my blog more aesthetically pleasing. For example, I just taught myself how to create glitter text (see above)! Off to a strong start if I do say so myself.

What are your resolutions for 2015?
