This year I trained solo for the NYC Tri. I had friends to join me in some workouts but I created and tried to follow my own schedule. Last year I did Team in Training which really helped to structure my weekly workouts but this year, I put my past years of training knowledge into this plan:
Highlighted is what I did, so for the most part I think I did a pretty solid job. I really packed in the workouts so I did the best I could. I definitely skipped over long runs and swims, unfortunately there are not enough hours in the day to teach 5 cycling classes and complete all of the training.
And now that the NYC Tri is behind me, I have two more races to look forward to this year: The Nations Tri September 7th and the Detroit Half Marathon October 19th. I’ve put together the following schedule and per usual, I will do my best and while I probably won’t be able to check off every workout, I’ll do what I can! Feel free to follow along 🙂
