Labor Day was yesterday, and while not technically the end of summer, it’s the day where we say farewell to summer and look towards fall. Per usual, the summer flew by, and has me thinking, what did I even do this summer? It’s been a blur, but ya know what, I guess I did some pretty cool things.
I had to refer to my agenda to remember what I’ve been up to since Memorial Day; I had my first photo shoot with a photographer, I ran the Oakely 10k, I flew to Michigan to meet one of my best friends’ baby, I went to Philly to cheer on my pro golfer bro, I celebrated the 4th in Maine, I visited friends in LA, I did my first Ironman 70.3, I starred in a TV show (is starred the right word to refer to a crew coming in and re-doing my backyard? i think yes).
Looking back, I suppose I did pack my summer with awesomeness. While summer in NYC is pretty nice, it’s actually a time when most New Yorkers flee to nearby beach towns and do whatever they can to get out of the sweltering city. I’m happy to be welcoming fall. Talk about a great season in the city. The air gets crisp, the colors change and you can take a quick trek from the city to go apple picking.
Fall officially begins September 23; by then I’ll be back with a post featuring my fall to-do list. For now, I’ll be focusing on training for the Chicago Marathon (5 weeks to go, training schedule in the photo above!) and soaking up the warm city nights.
Hope that you all enjoyed your Labor Day weekend and are having a good start to the short week ahead!
