This morning I got my tired self out of bed again at 4:45am to train with Team Lipstick in Central Park. Here was our workout, and it was tough!
- Begin: Ride my bike up 72nd street and the park
- Warm-up: Bike the 6-mile CP loop
- Time Trial: Bike the 6-mile CP loop again, but fast
- Time Trial part II: Get off the bike, run for 20 minutes around the hills of the park
- Cool-down: Bike the 6-mile CP loop
- End: Bike 20 minutes home in the rain
It was a great workout and it was a treat to do my 20 minute run with one of the coaches to get pointers on my form. Haven’t gotten that since being on my high school track team. Running the park after biking for 18 miles is rough, but perfect for triathlon training. I’ve been struggling to get my heart rate up recently but this really got me going (189! Very high for me). The workout burned 800+ calories. Getting caught in the rain wasn’t so fun but I made it through yet another 2.5 hour pre-work workout. Yowza.
