Yesterday I took 2 classes at the Equinox on Park Ave and recommend them both!
Started the morning with the 6:45am Body Sculpt class with John Tarmaggiore. This 1-hour class is perfect for people like me who like lifting weights but have a hard time motivating myself to do more than 10 minutes at a time. During the class you use a body bar, free weights, a bench and a mat and hit all (or many?) of the major muscle groups. I used to take this class a lot but haven’t for the past few months and could already feel the effect it had on my muscles within a few hours. Because this class doesn’t invovle any cardio, it’s good to hit the treadmill for a quick run before or after.
After work, already feeling sore from Body Scult, I tried out the 7:30pm Pilates Mat with Frederick Schjang. This was my first pilates experience and I really enjoyed it! It wasn’t super intense but I could feel my muscles working and got a decent stretch out of it.
It’s important to switch up your workouts and both classes are a great suppliment to my weekly spin schedule.
