Product Review: ClearProof Acne System

November 17, 2014

As a member of Influenster, every so often I’m asked to review products. When they put the word out about ClearProof I figured I’d give it a go. My skin has always been fine, it’s by no means flawless and I’m always looking for ways to get clearer, brighter skin so I’ll pretty much try anything. I recently went to the dermatologist and was given a few creams but after a couple of months of use I didn’t see much of a change and was happy to give this new system a try.

30 days ago I started using the ClearProof system. The first few days my skin looked worse than it had, but then things started to change. My skin was looking better than it had been in months but then by about day 10, things started to change again. The ClearProof systems is four parts: Clarifying Cleansing Gel, Blemish Control Toner, Acne Treatment Gel, Oil-Free Moisturizer. By day 10 my skin was SO DRY. I’ve always had normal skin (not oily, not dry) so this was a whole new (horrible) experience. My face was bright red after using all 4 items and had a stinging sensation. I was told the products take up to 30 days to see full effects so I wasn’t ready to give up. Instead, I removed the toner and used the other 3 items and added an extra moisturizer on top of the provided one. Within a couple of days the dryness went away and my skin looked clear without being red and irritated.

I’ve continued to use the system minus the toner and I’m seeing great results. My skin is clearer than it’s been and I plan to continue with this routine. Aside from the toner/dry issues, I’m not in love with the moisturizer as it’s pretty thin and doesn’t feel that moisturizing. I still use it, but often add another thicker moisturizer on top (want to avoid another dry skin situation).

While I won’t say my experience with ClearProof was 100% perfect, I’m actually quite happy with my results. If you’re looking for a new skin care routine, this is worth trying. You can experiment with the four steps, maybe taking one or two out if they aren’t working for you. I’m happy I played around with it instead of dropping the routine as I’m very happy with my Day 30 results.
