I always talk about moving to another city but I’ve been in NYC for 5 years and it doesn’t look like I’m going anywhere in the near future. One of the major things I WOULD look for in a new city would be that it’s outdoorsy and fit. This list of the 10 Best Running Cities in the US caught my eye; perhaps it could give me some ideas for a new city that I’d love. After going through the list, I’m very surprised to see that NYC is listed as #1! How is that possible?
Here is the justification:
•New York City Marathon, the world’s largest marathon
•10 parks with 544 acres or more
•21+ tracks
•50+ local running clubs
•New York Road Runners: nonprofit that organizes the marathon and over 50 other events
Places to run:
•Central Park
•Van Cortlandt Park
•Prospect Park

I will agree that NYRR is great and offers more races than I’d care to enter each year and Central Park is a nice place to run but….still not sure that I agree, but ok.
