Pre-Workout Snack

During the week I don’t typically have anything to eat before my early morning workouts. If my workout is starting at 6:30am there is no way I have the energy to wake up extra early for food- normally I grab some coffee on my way to the gym for a little energy boost and I’m good to go until breakfast around 9am.

The weekends are a different story. Unless I have an early morning group training, I’ll leisurely wake up, sit on the couch with some coffee and head to the gym normally around noon. Eating a big breakfast is out of the question because I’d never digest it in time, but I do need a little something more than coffee to get me through a good workout. This weekend I discovered the perfect pre-workout snack: Egg Whites with Avocado.

I took 2 hard-boiled eggs, tossed the yolk and chopped up half an avocado and put that in place of the yolk. Total Calories: 200
