The last 15 hours of my life, as told by photos:
1. Ran home from work as planned. It was a good temperature and the run was relatively easy. I haven’t been going as fast as I expected (would like to be at a sub-9 minute mile) but judging on my tiredness levels at the end of my runs I can push it harder. I get a little intimidated by the length of runs beyond 6 miles and slow myself down thinking I might tire out. Time to push a little harder.
2. Along my run I discovered a new path! I’m probably the only one on the UWS who didn’t already know about it but seriously it came out of nowhere. Along the West Side Highway running path there is a tunnel you can go in around 79th street that goes up a little hill and opens up into two wide paths (no cars just people walking/running/biking). It was beautiful and I intend to get back there soon (this is the view along the way).
3. After my run I headed right into my backyard for some hang time on the hammock. I then remembered I had a full DVR waiting for me inside so this didn’t last long.
4. Made a quick trip to Trader Joe’s and found champagne grapes. Basically they are just teeny tiny grapes but they sound fancy so I bought em. Good decision on my part, they are delish.
5. Cooked up a quick dinner which accidentally just turned into a plate of grilled & fresh veggies. Meant to make salmon but forget a key ingredient during my grocery shopping (the salmon).
6. And then this morning I headed out on my bike at 6am for spin class on the UES. The sky was a beautiful shade of pink and grey so I had to stop for a pic along the way.
7. Rode home and whipped up a smoothie. It was so good- here’s what’s in it (recipe makes enough to fill 2 full solo cups and yes, since the loss of a dishwasher I now use solo cups. classy.):
- ½ cup vanilla almond milk mixed with 2 tablespoons chia seeds (left to soak in the fridge overnight)
- 2 cups fresh spinach
- 1/3 cup frozen mango
- 1/3 cup frozen berries
- 1 scoop Perfect Fit Protein Powder
- ½-1 cup water
- 3 ice cubes
A busy 15 hours indeed. Happy Wednesday everyone.
