Energybits Review & Giveaway!

September 27, 2013

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of testing out Energybits, a little green tab made of 100% spirulina algae, said to boost mental and physical energy and endurance. We could all use a little more energy, right?

In addition to boosting energy, there is a very long list of benefits from these little guys, as in so many, I can’t list them all on this blog but you can read about it HERE.

I tried Energybits prior to two evening workouts which I always have a hard time revving up for. After sitting at my desk for hours it’s tough to get motivated, so I figured this was the perfect opportunity to give these guys a whirl.

The suggested serving size is 30 bits which seemed like a lot so I started small with about 10-12 bits before each workout. You can chew or swallow the bits whole. They smell not-so-great so I opted for swallowing them whole and it was totally fine. Not much of a taste and easy to swallow (although don’t try to swallow 10 at a time, that was a mistake!)

The first workout was a 5-mile run and after taking the bits I did feel a little burst of energy. I’m not going to say I felt like a well-rested woman (because I am not), but I wasn’t tired during the run and completed the 5-miles at a relatively fast pace (for me). I did notice that even after my run I had tons of energy. Instead of wanting to lay on the couch post-run I did a few errands and had energy lasting beyond dinner.

I also tried the bits before teaching back-to-back cycling classes Wednesday night (after also having worked out that morning). These double classes are rough but I felt full of energy through BOTH classes which really says something!

If you need a boost of energy, these bits may be for you. They each have 1-calorie and are all natural. If you check out the site I think you will be pretty amazed at how long the list of benefits is.

Thanks to Jonathan, the Brand Manager at Energybits I’m here to offer you the chance to try them for yourself!

To enter the giveaway, let me know what you need an energy boost for, whether it’s a 10-mile run or an all-night study session, I want to hear about it! You can either enter in the comment section of this post or email ShapinUpFitness@gmail.com. I will pick a winner at random on Monday and will announce it early next week.

Let me hear it: What do you need extra energy for?
