Let me kick this off with an apology for being MIA over the past week. Summer has officially kicked off and it’s a busy one. I promise to make a better effort to getting my daily posts to you. The last week got away from me, but I’m back!
So where have I been? Over the weekend I was in Michigan with college girlfriends visiting Lauren who lives in MI with the cutest baby and a super cute pup.

Sunday I flew home, saw my parents for Father’s Day and then went to a wedding. With all these travels and many more to come, training is a big challenge. In Michigan I fit a 4.5 mile run in but swimming and biking away from home is hard. I haven’t been in the pool in almost two weeks, whoops.
The next few weekends away will allow me to bring my bike which is a must because the NYC Tri is less than 30 days away! How did that happen? And looking beyond that, let’s not forget Ironman 70.3 and oh yea, according to my calendar…this is the first week of marathon training for Chicago! Am I overdoing it? Maybe. I will keep pushing forward and doing what i can do.
I’m a little overwhelmed even trying to write out this week’s schedule, but here it goes…
Monday: 50 minute cycle
Tuesday: EVF, run (weather permitting)
Wednesday: Cycle, 1,300 yard swim
Thursday: Cycle, 5 mile run
Friday: 1,300 yard swim
Saturday: 12 mile run
Sunday: Long bike ride (should be 50, might not be)
When doing various races throughout the year and over multiple years, motivation comes and goes. As much as I love training and challenging myself in races, sometimes I don’t feel quite as inspired. I’m having one of those moments and I’m trying to hype myself up and get on track, but it is hard.
When you feel your motivation dipping, what do you do to get into training mode?
