Some days I’m like omg I need to do Whole30 again, it’s amazing! Other days I eat a bag of chips and guac for dinner. We won’t discuss which one of those occurred last night. Anyways, today is a new day and maybe it’s a day that YOU start thinking about a Whole30 adventure.
I’ve done one full Whole30 (recap HERE) and then I’ve done two half Whole30s, that’s to say I’ve kept with it strictly for 14-17 days then called it quits. It’s definitely an intense commitment but I truly believe in the Whole30 lifestyle. While really hard to maintain beyond 30 days, those 30 days can teach you a lot about your relationship with food. If you are curious about the process or perhaps have food sensitivities and don’t know what feeling crappy is stemming from, it’s worth exploring.
The first time I did Whole30 I convinced a few friends to join me. My future sis-in-law was one of those friends and much like everyone else, she had a really really postive experience. So much so, that she’s taking on another Whole30 starting this Monday, February 9th. She’s an amazing cook and is spearheading a little group for Whole30ers to work together; she’ll be sending out weekly emails with tips and recipes to help you through the 30 days. I’ll be adding my two cents about Whole30 on her blog as well. To join the email group, click HERE and check out Sam’s blog ImSoCooked for delish recipes (Whole30 and not). I find it extra helpful to have support from others while doing Whole30, this is a great opportunity to get that support from someone who has already been through it.
As for me, I’m going to try to not eat chips and guac as a dinner meal, but I’m not 100% doing another Whole30 (right now, I’m sure I will in the future). I’m going to follow along, aiming for a Paleo-focused lifestyle.
