Friday Five

December 19, 2014

1. Bookmarking this ridiculous looking Funfetti Cookie Stack Cake. Not sure what occasion I’ll pull this one out for but it’s gotta happen.

2. This week Ollie graduated from doggie school! We took him to a 6-week training program at Unleashed by Petco on the Upper West Side. I highly recommend this program. It was just over $100, 1 hour each week and was very helpful for clueless new dog owners like me and MM. Kendra was our instructor and she was great, we learned a lot and Ollie is doing so well!

3. I’m looking for ways to fill the Serial-sized hole in my life. I love listening to podcasts on my way to work and I just found this new one, Dear Sugar. It’s based on an advice column of the same name and is hosted by Cheryl Strayed (author of Wild) and Steve Almond, the former Sugar columnists. Strayed has a book based on the advice column which has been on my to-read list (Tiny Beautiful Things) and listening to this makes me even more eager to read it. At first I wasn’t sure about the podcast but 20 minutes in I was totally hooked and can’t wait for it to fully launch in January (pilot now available).

4. Speaking of Cheryl Strayed, this weekend I’m seeing Wild, Loved the book and have heard good things about the movie.

5. I’m giving ClassPass a try for the next 30 days. My workout schedule is already pretty packed with Equinox classes but I love checking out new and different studios around the city. If you’re on ClassPass, what are your favorites? Let me know if you want to meet up for a workout!

Have a great weekend all!
