1. I have been having some major chocolate cravings this week and while I’ve been staying strong, this weekend I’m probably going to indulge. While the Ben & Jerry’s Peanut Butter Fudge Core on the right might be the dessert of my dreams, the healthy replacement Chocolate Mousse on the left (photo cred Shape Magazine) from Organic Avenue will do just fine (and I won’t feel like death after eating it). The only ingredients are avocado, cacao, cold-pressed coffee, vanilla bean, maple sugar and coconut sugar.
2. As a New Yorker, I spend more time at my office than anywhere else, so it’s important to keep things healthy. Print this image from Suja Juice and put it up at your desk as a reminder of easy changes you can make to improve your health at work.
3. It seems like Tri season just ended but it’s already time to sign up for 2015! The NYC Tri lottery is now open and I love this race. Yes, you have to swim in the Hudson but I swear it’s worth it for the amazing experience of this entire race. I just signed up and 2015 with be my 6th NYC Tri! Every year I think about not doing it but know deep down that’s not an option as I’d miss it too much. Luckily I had a friend who gave me a guaranteed entry (thanks HB!) and I’m in. Who will be joining me?
4. Speaking of my friend HB, she recently made a big move across the pond (thus why she can’t take advantage of her guaranteed entry), this article “Staying is Settling“ made me think of her and the big adventure she’s on. While I don’t agree that staying is settling, this article speaks to me as I’ve toyed with the idea of moving for years (don’t worry, not going anywhere soon!), it’s an interesting read on one girl’s take on why people move.
5. And a quote to end Friday Five, one that makes me want to go out and do sh*t. So this weekend do something fun!
See ya Monday!
