The weather is turning chilly but it’s not exactly cold yet. I always have a hard time striking the perfect balance with my workout gear for outdoor runs. I’m either overdressed and sweating in the first minute or freezing, taking the entire run to warm up. The key is layering.
There are a few of the pieces that I’m liking for this almost-winter season. The key to layering tops is start with a very thin base and keep things tight so you can wear multiple layers without it getting too bulky. Right now you might only need a light tank and a medium weight long sleeve top but soon you’ll probably be adding a fleece.
For leggings, I’m on the fence between capris and full-length tights. When the sun isn’t shining I opt for full-length but mid-day runs I can probably still get away with crops for a few more weeks.
Of the pants shown, I own the 2XU black pair, these are tech compression pants so if you’re going on a serious run, wear these. The Fabletics gray pair are a new favorite of mine, they are really warm and cute enough to wear long after your run is over. The navy Lululemon pair are on my wish-list (I’ve shown a zoomed in image of the pattern because it’s so perfect).
Take advantage of fall running weather, it’s the best and you’ll be wishing for it once winter arrives!
