Friday already? Wow this week flew by, here’s a look at my Friday Five.
1. Over the weekend I did a little braid experimenting and tried out this crown braid (YouTube video directions from Kayley Melissa) and I kinda love it. Still need to work on my technique but I’m hoping to sport this look soon. Seems kinda perfect for those days where I don’t have time/energy to wash my hair after a workout.
2. I had such an amazing weekend reuniting with my college girls. Whenever we go back we visit 703 Church, the house we all shared senior year. This picture is us at our graduation party and us this weekend. Love these girls and can’t wait to see them all again.
3. Sally’s Baking Addiction Honeycrisp Apple Sangria looks like the perfect fall cocktail. Better get on this before winter arrives.
4, But um, I sorta am starting Whole30 again. Am I crazy? Yeah, a little. I went off of Whole30 for about 2 weeks and ate and ate and then I ate some more (New Orleans followed by Michigan) and I just felt terrible. I realized how much better I feel when eating the Whole30 way. Because I don’t have any exciting plans or trips in the next month, I’m jumping back on the bandwagon. I also have a friend doing it and it’s fun when you’re doing it with a friend and can support each other along the way. Today is day 5 and I’ve been stocking up on compliant foods, lots as you can see by this picture, that include coconut. If you know how to cook and shop on this eating plan it’s quite tasty.
5. I’m always talking about how I’m going to be better about getting enough sleep and yet I still often fall short of seven hours. I’ll read any article about how to get better sleep, this one from GQ’s got some good ideas. One is to not rest up on Sundays and to maintain your sleep pattern through the weekend. After a particularly exhausting week, I make no promises.
