One of the challenges of Whole30 is the beverage department. When I can’t reach for a refreshing glass of Rose, I have a lineup of things that are Whole30 compliant. These are my top picks:
Flavored Seltzer: As long as it doesn’t have added sugar, it’s probably fine. My favorite is the coconut from La Croix, it almost feels like I’m having a tropical cocktail (ok not really but it’s still delicious).
Infused Water: A do-it yourself water flavoring with natural ingredients. I’m using the Prodyne Fruit Infusion Pitcher from Bed Bath and Beyond. There are also good on-the go options like the the AdNAart Flavour It Glass Water Bottle, available on Amazon. You can just toss fruit directly into your water but these infusers keep the fruit and seeds from making your water chunky. I’ve been making a lemon and cucumber mix, tastes like I’m at the spa.
Cold Brew Coffee: I can’t live without coffee and I’ve been suffering through cups of black coffee on a daily basis (too lazy to make my own almond milk). If you’re going to drink your coffee black, opt for cold brew, it isn’t as bitter. Trader Joe’s has a great cold brew and it lasts a good amount of time, it’s concentrated so your cup of joe will be 1/3 cold brew and 2/3 cold water.
Coconut Milk: I just discovered this incredible blend at Juice Press, Lait de Coconut; it’s only coconut water and coconut meat. It’s all natural with no added sugar. After a morning run I added a bit of this to a hot cup of coffee and it was heavenly. The bottle is pricey at $12.99 but if I’m using it as a coffee creamer it will last me a few cups. You can score a free Juice Press juice Saturday’s in NYC from now until the NYC marathon. Go for a run, instagram a photo with #willrunforjuice & #juicepress and bring it in between 9-2 on Saturdays and grab a free juice!
Any drinks I should add to my lineup?
