Homemade Sangria can be a low sugar and low calorie treat when made the right way. Based off THIS recipe, I created this sangria for our 4th of July celebration.
Ingredients:
- 2 bottles of rosé (I used Vinho Verde which is slightly carbonated)
- 1/3 cup Vanilla Smirnoff Vodka
- ¼ cup coarsely chopped fresh mint leaves
- 1 cup seltzer (flavored or plain, I used Melon Cucumber)
- 6 cups cubed watermelon
What to Do:
- Toss all of the above except the seltzer into a large pitcher and let it sit in the fridge for 4-6 hours. Once you’re ready to serve it, add the seltzer and mix.
The drink was light, refreshing and not too sweet. I made a lot so I had a second serving the next evening and thought it tasted even better, so if you’ve got time, you can let it soak for longer than 6 hours. If you have other fruit sitting around, toss it in for a fruitier drink.
