Happy Wednesday! Per my new routine, this morning I taught a cycling class then hit up the JCC for a swim before heading to work. I’m really loving this combo workout and like the mix of swim and spin. I work up a nice sweat in class uptown, walk 15 blocks in NYC humidity and then I’m ready to jump in the pool.
I’m planning to do a few run and swim workouts as well. The Central Park Lasker Pool has early bird and night owl lap swimming. You can register HERE for free entry. I just signed up and am planning to try a run from my apartment up to the pool, swim, then run home.
To make this happen I’ll need to plan my outfits carefully. With the right pieces, I can run, swim and run home without changing or can simply ditch a tank top poolside and just wear it on the run. Here are my top picks if you’re planning a similar workout:
Some of these pieces are made for swimming, others for running, but all are made with the right wicking material that you could swim AND run in them. For example, the Lululemon tank is made for hot yoga so even if you put it on after your swim for the run home, it will stay pretty dry. I’ve also included a really cute tri outfit from Coeur, something I’d love to run and swim through the city in. The sports bra/swim tops are supportive enough for the run and will be pool-appropriate.

I don’t really see myself running through Central Park in a bikini bottom but if that’s your style, you go girl. Otherwise, these shorts (and one pair of surf leggings) totally work for running and swimming. If swimming in shorts doesn’t seem appealing, you can wear any of these over bikini bottoms, also good for running and swimming.
