Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and lovely Mother’s Day! I was lucky enough to head to MD to spend the holiday with my mom and family. I made sure to take some pics for future TBT’s, but I’ll share one now, me and mom way way back in the day:
Check out my mom’s hair! Now she’s got blonde straight hair, my how times have changes. I don’t know if you could tell from my pictures but I most definitely inherited that fro. I go through phases of liking my curls and hating my curls. I’m currently in the “hate” category since they are unpredictable and only look good about once a week. If I have an event I need to look put together for, you just never know what you’re going to get, and straightening takes an hour or more.
I haven’t done it in years, but I decided to try Keratin again. It doesn’t tend to hold so well in my hair but maybe this time it will! Here are some before and after pics. While prepping your hair, the salon brushes out the curls and makes it as big as possible, cute right?
The “after” is looking good, but the real test is it if stays manageable for the next 4 months. Stay tuned, let’s hope for the best.
Mother’s Day Dinner was Saturday night with my family and for dessert, my brother’s girlfriend Sam (of ImSoCooked.com) made this beautiful and delicious pie. She’s a great chef, take some time and check out her recipes.
Also this weekend MM and I got a car (complete with a bike rack)! It’s my parents old car and we’re so excited to have it in the city this summer. Can’t wait to head off on some adventures. Living in NYC can sometimes feel suffocating. Most people don’t have a car so getting away for the weekend can be a challenge or super expensive. Now that we’ve got a car I’m looking forward to planning some getaways.
And now here we are, Monday morning; coffee is a must. The monkey cozie makes me smile despite being at my desk before 9am on this gorgeous day.
And speaking of this gorgeous day, it’s finally warm out, a high of 80 degrees and I couldn’t be happier. Here’s to a great week ahead!
