There are two exciting things about May 1st: it’s my birthday and it kicks off Bike Month! What a combo! If you don’t already own a bike and are considering it, jump on the bandwagon and get one this month. I worked with Schwinn to put together a bike buying guide. Whatever you’re looking for, Schwinn’s got a ride for you.
I love the look of Schwinn bikes, some have a cool vintage vibe while others have a sleek brand new look. They also have a wide range of prices; whatever your need and budget might be, you are likely to find a fitting Schwinn.
Here’s a look by category (priced lowest to highest left to right)
Urban Commuter: If you live in a city, these are the perfect bikes to get you around town. Gateway $199 / Network 2.0 $300 / Cream 2 $490
Mountain/Trail: For riders looking for a more adventurous route, opt for these super sturdy mountain and trail bikes. High Timber $230 / Frontier $350 / Super Sport 3 $440
Fitness/Hybrid: Whether you’re taking on you first triathlon or going for a multi-hour ride for a major calorie burn, these sleek bikes will get you to the finish line. Volare 1300 $330 / Searcher 3 $530 / Fastback 3 $710
I already have a tri bike and was in the market for a more casual, less expensive bike to get me around the city. I’m a nervous rider and wanted something safe that I could lock up outside and not panic over. I went for the Gateway and can’t wait to start riding it this month! Over the next few weeks I’ll give you a glimpse into our adventures.
There are some special bike month activities happening in May, like the Expo May 2-3 and Bike to Work Day May 16.
Happy Bike Month Everyone!
