This weekend it seemed like spring was finally here so we invited a few friends over for a mini BBQ. I was so excited to fire up the grill again (and when I say I, I obviously mean MM because turning a grill is scary, I always think it is going to explode). I made my specialty, roasted butternut squash and we served burgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken, pineapple and eggplant. Of course by Sunday it was freezing again but it was nice to get one day outside.
The cutest puppy around, Porter the pup came by for the festivities, as did our friends newborn baby. My how things have changed since our last BBQ…
My mom was in town on Sunday and since we’re both fitness freaks, we took a class at Refine Method on the east side. It was a great workout and I am feeling it today. The east side studio is pretty bare bones, just one room with a small bathroom off the back. I was confused when we arrived since you had to walk through what looked like a church door to get to the studio. But once there, our instructor helped us get settled and gave us a solid hour of conditioning work. I wrote a longer review of Refine HERE.
Post-workout we earned a good meal and headed to Beyoglu (Turkish cuisine) for dinner after two friends recommended it. We shared a bunch of dishes and it was delish. If you’re looking for a tasty Upper East Side meal, check it out.
While I thought Spring might have arrived, I was wrong. Today on my walk to work my hair froze. Maybe next week!
