San Fran Hotel Recommendation: The Prescott
For our first night in San Fran we stayed at The Prescott, conveniently located downtown. The hotel had sort of an old-fashioned feel to it (in a good way). It’s a Kimpton property, a line of hotels that I’ve always found to be really nice. Right when we checked in we were told about a free happy hour (this trip seems to have a theme of free booze) and we were escorted up to our Club Level room. The rooms are cozy. They are on the small side but a fine size and very nice and clean. The Club Level was slightly separated by a fancy hallway and the free happy hour by us was just a few steps from our room and included free drinks and snacks, perfect as we had some time to kill before our dinner at The Slanted Door.
Whenever I’m on vacation I try to fit in a little fitness. The Prescott offered me a few options. The lobby had bikes you could take around town, I love that! There is also a gym on-site. It’s small but has everything you need for a quickie vacation workout. The equipment was brand new and the room was very clean and fresh. I went in the morning and actually had the entire place to myself.
Aside from their gym, you can also get a $15 day pass to the larger gym around the corner. Plus, they offer a yoga mat in every room, how fun is that?
Because we were on the club level we also had a complimentary breakfast, which had healthy options. For those not on the club level, there is complimentary coffee and tea.
The Prescott is full of little touches that make for a very pleasant stay. You can tell the staff cares about the guests and works to make your visit as good as possible. If you’re looking for a place to stay in San Fran, check out The Prescott (rates are in the $200-$300 per night).
