I love lists, goals and resolutions so every year I come up with quite a list. Before brainstorming my 2014 resolutions, let’s see how the past year went (original post on 2013 resolutions HERE):
- Weight Goal: Nope, better luck next time! It’s not a big difference from my current weight but I always have a certain # in mind.
- Save a determined amount of $$: I was pretty close to meeting this goal. An unexpected mid-summer move threw off my savings plan so I fell a little short but otherwise I did a good job.
- Eat Cleaner & Fresher: Yes and no. Went through phases on this and would love to do better in the year ahead.
- Cook More, aim for 50 new recipes & document it: Hm, this one seems like a failure. I did cook a good amount and I did document a lot of it but 50 new recipes, not so sure.
- Read More- 10 books: I did it! Currently on my 11th book of the year.
- Watch less TV, especially before bed: Yes! By removing the TV from the bedroom I definitely watched less before going to sleep. I do miss my 11pm Friends episodes but it’s for the best…
- Get more sleep (7 hrs a night): FAIL! I now have a Jawbone UP tracking my sleep and am even more aware of how terrible I’m doing. I tend to get between 5-6 hours a night, not good. Still working on this.
- Yoga 1x per week: YES (i think?). Went through phases but compared to years past I’ve upped my yoga intake by a lot and think it evens out to at least 1x per week.
- Train for the triathlon: Yep, did it, PR’d by 7 minutes (2:47)
- Train for the marathon: Yep, did it.
- Be more focused & present at work: Um, sorta? Could do better.
- Do some art projects: Did a few, let’s do more!
- De-clutter: Did an ok job and again, could do way better.
- Stay in touch better: Once again, room for improvement.
- Blog more! YES, think this was my biggest accomplishment of the year, lots and lots of blogging!
So there you have it…all over the place with some goals met, some not and a bunch somewhere in between. I’m sure a bunch of similar resolutions will be on my 2014 list; I’ll share it with you later this week.
