Feeling bloated is.the.worst. It’s not quite weight gain so that’s good, but a puffy face is a horrible way to start the week. If you went a little off the rails this weekend and aren’t feeling (or looking) like your best self, here are a few ways to get rid of bloat:
- Drink More Water: Seems counter-intuitive, I know, but drinking more fluids will push out the extra fluid from your system. How is that possible? i have no idea, but it does!
- Ditch Dairy: Some people are totally unaware that they can’t properly digest dairy. Give it up for a few days and see how you feel. If you feel better without it, perhaps it’s a good idea to find alternatives to your favorite dairy items (like almond milk instead of regular milk).
- Pick the Right Fruit: Some fruit is better to help flush out the extra fluid your system. Stick to berries, lemons, oranges and grapefruit.
- Reduce Processed Foods: Go with all-natural, whole foods instead of packaged foods which contains artificial ingredients.
- Go Starch-less: Skip carb-y foods like bread, cereal, pasta. They help reduce bloat (and aren’t great for you in general).
