New month, new training schedule! I’ve put the details down on paper for the next two months of triathlon training. The race is about 3.5 months away so now is the time to get serious. I’ve given myself very few days off (ok, 1 day in two months to be exact) so it’s likely that I won’t be able to check off every single thing on this schedule, but for me it’s best to aim high and maybe miss a few things here and there.
To decode: TNT refers to Team in Training (group workouts with the tri team & brick means a bike/run combo), Circuit Sculpt refers to Circuit of Change classes (I bought a 10-pack from Groupon), and the Bikram classes are at Bikram Yoga Herald Square (30 day class pass bought on Gilt) [studio reviews on both coming your way soon).
One thing in particular that I want to work on in April/May is strength training. Feeling strong is super important in racing. Sculpt classes really help to create a strong core which can make you more powerful in the swim, bike and run portions of the race. I did a lot of sculpt classes last year prior to the race and felt a difference on race day. Looking for that same feeling again this year!
What are your workout plans for the month ahead?
