This weekend I went with my mom & friends to a spa for some relaxation and bonding time. We went to The Emerson, about 2 hours north of NYC. It was such a great experience, if you’re looking for a little getaway, I definitely recommend this place! We spent Saturday at the spa getting massages and facials, then spent time at the lodge where we were staying. This part of the resort was pretty campy- the rooms were nice with a rustic feel (and a bear theme which I thought was so cute!) plus a pretty view of water in the back (even though it was a gloomy weekend, it was still a pretty sight). The lodge was otherwise pretty empty so our group of 7 felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. We also checked out the rooms at the Inn, the main part of The Emerson and they looked really nice too. These rooms were more upscale than the lodge, but I really loved the lodge- it had a ski cabin feel to it. At The Emerson is a couple of restaurants, a country store, shops, a spa, a fitness center, a room with a huge fireplace to hang out, and probably more that I didn’t see. I’d love to go back to this place again, and hopefully next year I will!
A weekend away from the city is always a treat, and it’s an extra special treat to spend it with my mom for her birthday.
AND, this knocks off one more thing on my 30 Things to Do Under 30 (Spa weekend with my mom). That’s 5 down, 25 to go!
