Last night I went on my evening run with the addition of 2XU Elite Compression Race Socks. My legs had been feeling a little weighed down and tired recently so this seemed like a good chance to try these bad boys out.

I’m not sure if I felt different running because mentally I knew I was wearing the socks, but especially during the first mile, my legs felt looser and my stride felt longer than on previous runs. I ran 5.5 miles and my legs didn’t tire too much throughout except for on a couple of hills. I was able to finish the run with a pretty quick pace (my first and last miles were the fastest) and afterwards my legs weren’t too tired. Today my legs feel totally normal and not tired from last nights run which may or may not be because of the socks.
My one complaint is my legs got a bit hot in the socks. Last night was muggy and warm. I think these socks would be great for that time when it’s too chilly for shorts but not cold enough for long leggings.
Overall, I liked the socks and plan to wear them again. I bet these are extra helpful for people who have very tight muscles and leg pain. They would probably be good for a long race to keep muscles loose and relaxed. Perhaps I’ll even wear them for my next half marathon (in one week!) if the temperature drops a bit.
