I’m continuing my UXF journey and have some details to share from last week’s second session and yesterday’s third (out of 8).
Session #2:
Again, much of the class focused on form and learning how to do basic moves correctly. After a quick warm up we went into squat overload, learning 3 different types of squats. We used what can only be described as a broom handle to learn the technique and the hope is to eventually use a weighted bar for a bigger challenge.
These are the three squats:
Back Bar Squat
Front Bar Squat
Overhead Bar Squat
To really nail the form we did each type of squat- 10 reps, 20 reps and 30 reps, totaling 180 squats, not bad! I definitely felt that the next day.
Next up we used burpees and kettelbell swings. Our progression was 10 kettelbell swings, 1 burpee THEN 9 kettelbell swings, 2 burpees THEN 8 kettelbell swings, 3 burpees (you get the idea, this continued until we hit 1 kettelbell swing and 10 burpees)
For those that might not know:

Session #3
This session was the hardest one yet, leading me to believe that it will only become more challenging from here on out. I’ll share the most notable part of the workout with you. We did the following for 20 minutes straight, no breaks included:
- 5 Burpees
- 10 Pushups
- 15 Squats
The goal was to see how many sets you could complete in the 20 minutes. I hit 14 sets but I admit that nearly all of my pushups were with my knees down, something I could improve upon.
Try the workout for yourself, it’s something you can do at home with no equipment and you’re sure to break a sweat.
