Yesterday was the NYC Half Marathon and it was a great race! It was my third time doing the NYC Half but this was the first time that I actually followed a training schedule and prepared for the race. And guess what? Training works (duh)! Below is the schedule that I followed and as you can see, I didn’t stick to it 100%. It’s hard to do every single training run, but I did manage to keep up pretty well. Also add a bunch of spin classes (2-4 per week) to the below schedule and you can see what I’ve been up to for the last 11 weeks.

By training for this race I completed it at my fastest time (by 6 minutes!!), finishing it in 1:48:54, an 8:19 pace. Another perk of training–today I’m not completely dead. Typically after running a half I can’t walk right for days, but already today I feel fine and taught spin this morning. I’m a little sore but nothing crazy.
Check back later today for more details on the race, and hopefully pictures coming soon!
*And a BIG shout out to my fellow runners, in particular Matt, Lauren, Sara & Shira, way to go!*
