Healthy 4th of July

Looking for a healthy AND delicious item to serve at your 4th of July party? Well here it is! A Red White and Blueberry Trifle.  I made this recipe last year (image below) and also made it last night for a Top Chef DC viewing party. It’s super easy and fat-free.

Ingredients: angel food cake mix, skim milk, sugar-free vanilla jello pudding, sugar free cool whip, blueberries & strawberries

Directions: Prepare the angel food cake mix (all you need is water and the mix) in two separate small pans. While that is baking, mix up the sugar free vanilla jello pudding (with skim milk), and refrigerate for 5-10 minutes.  Once the cake is baked and has cooled, cut up the two pans worth of cake into small squares.  Layer your trifle bowl with all the ingredients, this is the order I favor: cake, pudding, berries, pudding, cake, cool whip, berries. Serve cold and enjoy!
