The next part of our journey brings us further into the midwest with a stop in Madison, Wisconsin. The last time I was in Madison was during college for Halloween, so you can imagine this stop was slightly more grown up, but I did stay with the same high school friend that I stayed with the first time! This time though, we opted out of dressing up as ninja turtles and going to a frat party.
We only had one night in town, which wasn’t nearly enough. I loved Madison! The city has a very homey feel to it and there are tons of activities, especially in the summer. The weather was cool and breezy and perfect for outdoor adventures. During our stay we biked along the water to a beer, bike & film festival at a nearby park. We sampled beers while picnicking on fried cheese curds (when in Rome).
My favorite was the New Belgium Kriek made from sour cherries.
The next morning I went for a run along the water with gorgeous views, then rewarded myself with Michael’s Frozen Custard. This road trip was all about balance.
Then it was back in the car as we headed on.
This is a fave pic from the road trip. A filled car, a cute puppy, and my new favorite sunnies, which I later sat on and broke on the final day of our road trip 🙁
Next up I’ll give you the rundown of our trip through South Dakota.
