Last night I checked out ViPR, a conditioning class at Equinox. The EQ site describes the class as:
“Vitality, Performance & Reconditioning for more energy, enhanced movement skills, & incredible strength. ViPR delivers a progressive & fun variety of real-life movement & whole body integration for maximum metabolic rate & increased caloric expenditure, resistance, endurance & strength.”
The 45-minute class was made up of squats, jumps and weird moves I’ve never done before, all with the use of THIS:
This odd rubber ViPR item has a little bit of weight to it, but isn’t too heavy. The piece is used in every single exercise done in the class in a variety of ways.
Here is a video created by Equinox that shows a bit about the class and the moves.
I thought that the class started out a bit slow and it seemed fairly easy, but as it went on, the moves became more challenging; I was out of breath, sweating and had aching legs. Overall, I’d say I got a good workout. It wasn’t my favorite class at Equinox but it’s unique and something to try out if you’re looking to switch up your conditioning workouts.
