Girls Getaway to Bear Mountain

August 11, 2014

This weekend I headed slightly up north with two of my girlfriends to the Bear Mountain Inn. I had no idea this beautiful place existed only an hour outside of the city. We had plans to hike, eat, relax and shop. It was the perfect little city escape.

I packed up my Ame & Lulu weekender and my Lululemon Run From Work backpack (perfect for our hike) and headed out of the city Friday after work.

The inn was beautiful and intimate (only 15 rooms) with a nice mountain backdrop. We got settled, had dinner, drank wine, watched House Hunters and called it a night. Wild times!

Saturday morning another friend met up with us and we went on what we thought was an easy hike. O-M-G we were wrong. The hike to the top of of the mountain was crazy. I don’t even know how to accurately describe it but there were parts that were giant flat steep rocks that I felt like spiderman trying to run up.

After a lot of sweating and only one lil fall, we made it to the top.

After taking in the view we hiked back down, grabbed a quick lunch and then went to the spa, conveniently located next to our room. I had a facial and massage and it was magical. After that hike it was well deserved.

Next up was dinner at Birdsall then back to the inn.

Sunday we hit up Woodbury Commons and got some really great buys. More on that later because I’m obsessed with my purchases and they deserve their own post.

And finally one more stop before dropping Lauren off at the airport. Bellvale Creamery! This place is the best. MM and i discovered it a few years ago and whenever I’m in the area I make sure to make a stop. They have delicious ice cream and a gorgeous view. My favorite flavor is Calf Trax (vanilla ice cream with peanut butter cups and peanut butter swirls).

If you’re looking for a quick getaway from NYC, I recommend checking out the Bear Mountain Inn. It was so easy to get there from the city yet it felt like we were worlds away.
