I had SUCH a good weekend, and here’s why!

Top Row Pics: Headed out of the city with the Caryn, Carroll & Michele for some apple picking in Warwick, NY. We chose Maskers Orchard and I fully recommend it. There were tons of apples (and a lot of varieties) as well as delicious donuts and other treats. It was the perfect fall atmosphere and we had a great time. Plus, if you go apple picking in Warwick you can stop by my favorite ice cream spot, Bellvale Creamery. My flavors: Pumpkin & Calf Tracks (vanilla ice cream with peanut butter swirl & peanut butter cups). It was a great girls day away from city life.

Bottom Row: MM, Michele, Mike and I ran a half marathon in Central Park. I’ve mentioned before the route isn’t great (two loops of the park full of hills) but the race turned out better than I expected. I felt pretty good during miles 1-7 but once I hit mile 8 I got the worst blister I’ve ever had (because I’m the dummy who wore brand new shoes for the race). I think the major pain I was feeling may have made me go faster just to get the race done with and take my shoes off. I wouldn’t say I enjoyed the last 5 miles, but I got through it, finishing it 1:50:57, a mile pace of 8:29 (only 10 seconds slower than my fastest half marathon pace). While I was very content and happy with my time, I was way more excited for my friend Michele! It was her first half marathon and she totally killed it. She started running about a year ago and really stuck to her training and made it happen, so proud of her!

Special shout-out to all the people cheering along the course: Caryn, Jill, Sara, Shira, Alison- you guys are the best!
